| - This might actually be the worst venue I have even been to, at least this side of the border. I went to go see Regina Spektor (and I had to choose between this and Sondre Lerche at the Mod Club, which was a really hard choice!) and I was genuinely appalled by, well, everything. Admittedly I had no idea what kind of reputation this place has because no one had ever mentioned it to me, but I guess no one goes because it sucks to begin with.
It took me well over an hour to get from College and Spadina (we had a few "Where the hell are we?"'s along the way) to the SA and even when I got off the bus, I had to walk a bit. This kind of sucked but I did discover that it is located to TNT and I got to go for the first time, a true Toronto experience. It was also across the street from Circle du Soleil's tents and they were absolutely beautiful.
OK, the view of the skyline was cool because I was on the beach. One star for the view of the CN Tower from outside the TNT.
The place was packed, the crowd was terrible (but this seems to be a common occurrence in Toronto), I couldn't see anything (which was infuriating), and I had to walk to King St to catch a streetcar.
I'm a bit upset with Regina for playing the SA after her previous choice of Kool Haus (UGH), but I've learned my lesson and decided that sometimes it isn't a choice of music but a choice of venue.
I shall never return!
