  • Still buzzing off of my 5:45am ride! With its club style speaker system, upbeat personalized workout, and customized spa-like qualities, Cyclebar is the best indoor riding experience I've ever had! The journey starts on the website. Go there to register an account, pick your shoe size, sign up for classes, and more. I bought the 3-ride package for new riders. If you're going to give an exercise program a try, you have to go more than once. Ride #1 was a blast! I arrived about 15 minutes before class started and the ladies at the front guided my zombie-like self through the check-in process (remember, it was 5:30am). Their touchscreen kiosks made it very simple. From there, I was given shoes (they knew my size from online registration), a water bottle, towels, and a private locker for the morning. Our instructor, Heather, introduced herself and got me locked into my bike. Even though I sat in the front row, I never felt singled out. The music was a solid mix of old and new school tunes with heavy beats, and with the pace of the class, the time truly flew by. The motivation from an instructor makes a huge difference and helped me burn a sweet 549 calories. See my photos for all the stats from Ride #1. My only complaint is that there wasn't much use of the massive monitors. Aside from displaying our stats and ranking throughout the class, Heather toggled the screens on and off. It would have been fun to see some visual effects or videos that matched the music vibe. Maybe they do that in the themed classes? I'll be back to find out...
