| - This place has a pretty gimmicky concept: you get a bowl; fill it up with an assortment of meat, seafood, veggies, spices, and sauce; and then BD's grills it for you. It's kind of fun, but also means that the how well your meal turns out is largely dependent on how good you are at picking out a tasty combination of ingredients.
The quality of the ingredients generally seems pretty good, but if you don't know anything about concocting a stir-fry, it's easy to end up with something largely inedible--I've seen it happen to friends way too many times. Thankfully, BD's has a set of "recipe cards" you can use to assist you in making something good if you're new to the concept. Still, there's basically nothing here you can't make better at home in your wok.
Service is good, and the guys manning the grill are universally great--they put on a good show, throwing eggs in the air and making you laugh as you wait for your food. Whenever they get a tip, they ring a giant gong. The servers are also pretty good, if a bit slow sometimes. BD's is group-friendly.
Prices generally seem a bit high for what you get--it definitely feels like you're paying for the "fun" concept more than the food. BD's can be a good time, and it's worth trying once, but the food itself just isn't good enough or unique enough to keep me coming back when there's so many other options nearby.
