  • Overall 4.5 stars. I've had my BOA/AMEX credit card for decades and have always gotten great service. My most recent call was because my bill hadn't arrived in the mail, hence I missed payment. Unfortunately, for this particular card's website, there's no way to contact them online unlike every other credit card. No chat, no email, no contact form. In this day of modern technology, it would be good to have this option. As you know, people don't like calling into credit card co. We're put on hold forever etc. I like to do it online, plus there's documentation that you contacted them in case there's ever some kind of dispute or clarification required. I spoke w/ Elyse/Alise from the Nevada office. Very nice gal and I could tell immediately she had great customer service. She pulled up my records and saw I never had late payment before and immediately refunded the $25 late fee & all the interest. I then gave her feedback on how they could improve the customer experience by allowing us to contact them online (it would save company money too!) and she noted it and said they were working on it. Then she went above and beyond. She said she was going to put a "reminder to do" on her work calendar for a week out to go back into my account to make sure I wasn't charged anything. What 5 star service! Thanks, Elyse/Alise! If they would allow customers to contact them online, their 4.5 stars (rounded up to 5 stars 'cuz of Elyse/Alise) would easily be a true 5 stars! TIP: Every time I call anyone the first thing I proactively ask them after they ask for my name/account # is "How are you today?" Makes such a big difference (99.9% of the time). I've actually been told by customer service reps at utility, airline, medical, credit card companies, etc. that they're usually getting yelled at by people and no one ever asks how they're doing :( and they want to help me just because I was nice to them. Being nice & respectful goes a long way. Doesn't work with everyone, but for the most part I've been lucky to deal w/ nice reps. Being in an industry where our customers/clients are everything (and keeps us in business), customer service is so important to me! Hope this tip helps you on your next call you have to make :)
