My mom never fed me arugula with beet and goat cheese, so "My Mother's" remains a go-to for me, has been one since the late 80's. Now have to overlook the aging neighborhood, facade and parking lot (well-lit, usually easier to park out back). Once inside, on the menu is good reliable home-style American food. Stick with the beef, turkey, fish, and spaghetti dishes. Chicken? Spotty. Pizza? Gak! (Maybe for kids.) Mini salad bar with fresh in-house real blue cheese dressing. Apple pie? Just like mom used to make in the 70's (some won't like that). Green bean side is good enough to try once even if you usually wouldn't. The service is almost always efficient and the relaxing main dining room is always clean. Biggest drawback is the temptation to overeat: it's comfort food!
