| - Mixed Bag For My First International Budget Rental Experience
SITREP
The first thing one will note when coming to this business Yelp page is that it is "unclaimed" by the business, so this just may become a placeholder for our "b*tch-sessions".
THE SETUP
At best, this rental was a mixed bag, because although the car was great, at the end of rental, this Budget exasperates me with TWO different headaches:
(1) First, this outlet is trying to stick me with a scratch to the front side of the car that was noted when I first picked up the car to begin the rental. And although I have great success challenging such shenanigans here in California, it's much much harder to make your point - after-the-fact - further away in another country;
(2) ADDED HEADACHE: Second, I always get the "Damage/Waiver" coverage, but APPARENTLY, unlike the U.S., Canada is one of a handful of countries that pretty much nullifies that item by bypassing the coverage with discretion to still charge up to $500 Canadian as their "deductible", essentially making the Damage/Waiver worthless in the cases of light vandalisms or scratches.
THE LOWDOWN
I got a compact reservation at a decent rate, but whatever *savings* I expected, seemed to "go out the window" with a bogus charge. [This is ongoing drama, so we'll see how it ends.....]
