| - Our company uses this location a lot for folks traveling in town for business. My buddy from our FL location often stays here, so I've been here a lot, as well as gotten a room a couple times.
The manager's reception for guests is very nice. Typical Embassy Suites - wine, beer, light snacks.
Rooms are quite nice. Spacious, clean, nicely decorated. And, they allow dogs. Love it! (Traveling with a dog is great, until you need a room.)
What I need to comment on is the recent renovation in the lobby. WOW. There used to be a very icky swamp/river in the entire lower level. It smelled wet, damp, musty, and suspicious. Ick. It had its cool parts, but honestly, how clean could that have been? And, it made it hard to provide guests adequate seating. I was never a fan. The renovation is for the most part, quite pretty. My one negative comment would be the restaurant/bar area. They took a nice quaint restaurant with cozy seating, and made it into a stark, unfriendly restaurant/bar. The bar is especially stark and bare.
My one negative: my friend ordered a drink with a specific vodka (not being a vodka drinker, I have no idea which one, not that it's important to the story), and there wasn't enough for the drink. She poured it back into the bottle, and replaced the bottle back on the shelf. WHAT???? That is not allowed in bars. Ah well... as long as she doesn't pull that stunt with my beer. Of which, by the way... dismal selection. But, again, I only go there to drink when my bud is in town, and we've exhausted the local haunts. :)
