I am a ramen lover. I have noted that there is a great divide in the ramen world of Vegas, with many people preferring a different location and others enjoying Sora. I decided on Sora for one reason and one reason only.... they had a spicy option. I like my ramen spicy. Anyway, a friend and I came here and both got the suicide ramen (or something to that effect, it was spicy broth paired with the spicy meat). It was spicy, which I enjoyed, the noodles were not over done and the meat was tender and tasty. It was a little odd that the spicy meat was served on the side and cold, but no matter.
My main issues with Sora are the following:
A) no tonkatsu base... I like the richness of the tonkatsu and feel that the soy base is too salty B) The giant piece of seaweed they stuck in my soup made it kinda fishy and I'm not down with that
I would like to try Monta for a proper comparison, but I have had several ramens in Phoenix that top Sora's (and Phoenix isn't exactly known for ramen so....). On the plus side, the portions were large and the prices were not so large, gotta like that!
