I had to find a last minute flower girl dress, so I was calling around to consignment stores to see what sizes they had available. When the phone was answered, whoever answered kept carrying on their conversation with another person to the point that I was about to hang up when they finally said hello. I proceeded to ask about sizes and was told, without hesitation (which I found strange), that yes of course they had that size. (I was looking for a 2T. Not a common size for flower girls.) Now I had already called one store and they had to actually go look to see if the size was available. I'm not sure if I should be impressed or dumbfounded by the speed of this lady's response. Then she explained that she was with a customer and could she call me back. I said yes and was immediately hung up on. I realize that with technology today that she probably had a form of caller ID but that was completely rude and unacceptable! She didn't ask for my name or if the number that appeared was one where she could reach me. I think you can judge a lot about a place by the kind of customer service you receive on the phone.
