I am taking back my 5-star review. The reason is that the new owners are not paying attention to details.
Before the ownership changed I was a frequent guest. The salon used to be clean and cared for. The owners always checked with me to make sure my experience was good. That service is gone.
I have been back twice since and won't be back. Here is why: the gel manicurist put out two filthy led light boxes to stick my hands into. The area where your fingers rest is sticky dirty. Yuck! There is a used band-aid on the lid of the LED box. Double yuck!! The manicurists, some were dressed in way too tight and revealing shorts, yes I really am not interested in looking at women in tight crotch high shorts. Save that for the clubs. The owners kid was running up and down the salon, bumped my chair once and whined to mommy, the owner perhaps, that he wanted to go home. Apparently the whole family works there so no one was available to watch him at home?
It is not a professional salon that is interested in providing the best guest experience. In a word: filthy. The front faux leather chairs are ripped beyond repair. The walls and baseboards are dirty. The floors are very dirty, the nail stations are not wiped down between clients. Nail dust everywhere, even on the nail technicians clothes, more of a reason to wear white lab coats like they do at Serenity Salon in San Diego. Read my last review on them.
Modern Salon has one thing I like, they are open till 11PM. However that is not enough to get me back.
The first time I was in under new ownership
one of the men bragged they were much better than the old owners? Oh really? I came in twice and each time was worse than the last. Anyone know where the previous owners went?
