  • What an amazing experience today! Kudos to Rachel for being an amazing, kind, and wise-beyond-her-years stylist. My mom, sister, future mother-in-law, and I came for wedding dress shopping today (I made an appointment). As most brides-to-be, I was super excited to try on dresses - namely, one I had had my eye on for weeks (and the only one saved to my "favorites" on the DB site). But as a plus-size gal, clothes shopping in general can be tough/not a fun experience, and there was a part of me worried that I wouldn't feel comfortable or beautiful, or that it would be a struggle to fit into a dress. I am happy to report that wasn't the case AT ALL! First of all, the atmosphere was calm and relaxing - not what you might expect for a bridal salon on a Saturday afternoon! But we were immediately introduced to Rachel and brought over to chairs/the mirror/dressing room area. From the moment Rachel and I started talking, I felt a connection and truly felt that she was excited to get to know me and start bringing out dresses. She noted my dress I had favorited and said she would definitely grab that one, and grabbed a few others throughout the course of our appointment. I felt comfortable with Rachel right away and she helped me change from one dress to another, and we talked and laughed the entire time. The very first dress - my "favorite" - was THE one! I felt beautiful right away, and my family loved it as well. I tried on the other dresses to compare, but we all knew that first one was it. The appointment was seamless, fun, relaxed, and I truly felt that Rachel was on my side and wanted me to feel happy in whichever dress I chose. At no point did I feel she was pushing me to buy anything, trying to upsell, or try to make me try things on or buy something I wasn't comfortable with. While I know a component of the stylist's job is to help a customer buy something, I never felt that pressure from Rachel. She supported me, I felt her compliments were genuine, and the decision to purchase was one I made completely on my own. Side note: the price couldn't have been beat - I didn't experience sticker shock and I'm comfortable with what I paid! I said "yes to the dress" today and I couldn't have been more pleased with my experience at David's Bridal on McKnight. I'm looking forward to appointments with Rachel and the DB team in the future!!
