I had Travis come to give an estimate for replacing drywall, then we agreed on a time for him to come fix it. We made these arrangements over e-mail, so there should have been no confusion about it. On the day he was supposed to show up I wanted until 20 minutes after his scheduled arrival time and then called him. He said I was not on the schedule. I said I had e-mails to back it up. He said he would check his e-mail and call me back.
While I was waiting, I forwarded the relevant e-mails to him. He did not call me back. Probably he was too cowardly to own up to his mistake face to face, or even over the phone. Instead, I got an e-mail (this is the beginning of June by the way) saying that he had double-booked the day and "we will need to rebook towards the end of august [sic]."
I responded that I had already made arrangements to be home on the scheduled day, and had already moved everything out of the room he was supposed to work on. He did not respond. I asked him if he had a response, and again he did not respond.
He was probably hoping this would all just go away. Instead, it is all going on yelp.
Edit: he later called to apologize, but would not do anything to meet the appointment the same day or anytime soon.
