I came in with a Groupon for a cleaning & a take home teeth whitening. There's a reason I needed a Groupon-no dental insurance. I didn't get a real cleaning & afterwards, the dentist just kept trying to talk me into spending more money on more several other services. She said I had a small cavity & that was the reason she wasn't going to even give me my teeth whitening trays-she was holding that until I came back in to HER for my filling. Uh, since when is it her choice where I go? I finally just said well I'll call at a certain time to think about my finances because she was so insistent about everything she was "selling". I didn't even get a real cleaning, just a polish & a regular floss & I know my teeth are nice but I'm sure I had some tartar that needed attention. I was also talked into a fluoride varnish, which I said as soon as it was put on that it didn't feel too good & I kept trying to get it off my lips. I kept asking if it was really ok to swallow & the girl said it was totally fine. I did everything she told me to do & didn't brush or eat for the time it needed to set & the longer I had it on the worse my mouth felt. My tongue & lips got swollen, tongue had some bumps on it the next day, almost like a burn! I could barely talk & really hard time eating! I finally got in touch with the office (after Groupon) & it took a while for the doctor to even care enough to get back to me...waking me up, so she finally said she would call me back, which she didn't. Just today I decided to call back to find out why they even bothered calling me if they didn't care & I told them I was never coming back. I told them from my experience & what happened I think they need to refund my money. They wanted me to make another appointment & see her first again to TALK about a possible refund!?!? Now that doesn't make any sense! I've NEVER been to a dentist on a Groupon & felt like I was in a sales office & then to be told I have to come back, spend the time & money when I was NEVER coming back to talk about a refund....sorry, NO! How about some compassion & at the very least don't pressure your patients when they are coming in for one thing-fulfill that first & talk about IF they want to come back for anything else later
