The Swedes are an odd lot my Norwegian grandfather told me. IKEA kind of proves that while at the same time proving how awesome they are too! Right off - the cafeteria is good, cheap and right there! Eat before you shop! Then take the long hard hike through the rooms and rooms of space saving, urban furnishing and home accessories. From office furniture (covet the hydraulic work desk!) to kids rooms, linens, kitchen stuff, dishes, curtains - holy moley they have it all. It is all very modular, inexpensive furniture all made to go together and save space. It is very hip and urban with that dash of European style. Really fun and the curtains, cabinet handles and kitchen table from there have been reasonable, stylish and easy to assemble. Did I mention they have frozen bags of meatballs and cinnamon rolls to take home too?
