After our trip through all the awesomeness that we were able to see in our 1 week trip to Arizona we came back to Phoenix for 1 day to wait for our return flight back home to Chicago.
I can't believe how hot it was. We drove to downtown Phoenix where the temperature was hovering at 108 degrees. Now everyone tries to tell you oh it's a dry heat. My response so is walking into an oven, but it doesn't mean I want to walk into an oven. Anywho when we arrived in downtown we expected to see some sign of activity. NADA not a single sole was out on the street.
While we were trying to find something to do without frying I was searching through Yelp (what else?) to try find some points of interest. That's when I spotted human life, another car filled with people. I crossed the barren street and asked the driver if he could recommend anything while we were waiting for our return flight wo/wandering too far from the airport. He suggested Old Town Scottsdale. At this point we were looking for something to do so we took his advice and went to Old Town Scottsdale.
This area is kind of like a combination of the old west. There are a number of shops, restaurants & bars in an area several block area. It's not the most exciting area of been to, but it gave us something to do & an ability to duck into some of the stores to cool ourselves off while we planned our next stop.
We actually wanted to try Little Miss Barbecue which is rated 5 stars on Yelp, but that's another review.
