| - Wow, Cox, you have 1 star in pretty much all of your locations from what I can see. Doesn't that tell you something?
We've been Cox customer for a couple of years now ONLY because we have to be. Cox is the only provider where we live, giving them a monopoly over the service and boy do they take advantage of that. Knowing that their customers have nowhere else to go, they provide, undoubtedly the absolute worst customer service AND internet service that could possibly exist. Oh, and at the highest prices. Isn't that nice?
We've been having problems with our internet since we've been with them but in the last month it has gotten to the point where at times, it turns off completely. We've put in several service requests, talked to 20+ representatives over the phone and our issues have been nowhere near resolved.
Let me just mention that we are currently paying for the HIGHEST FASTEST internet service that they provide. We pay almost $90 a month JUST for internet. That being said, the ultimate internet package is supposed to reach speeds up to 300 megabits a second. Guess what we've been getting the ENTIRE time we've been paying for this level of service? HARD WIRED - meaning plugged in and NOT even using the WiFi, we are receiving 90 megabits per second at its absloture fastest. Normally it is closer to 60. SIXTY!! That's 1/5th of the speed we are paying for.
THREE time they were supposed to come out to our area to fix the problem. 2 of the three they NEVER EVEN CAME. The third time I asked for a supervisor to come. They came and said they couldn't fix the issue and that there was "more to the problem". I've asked for phone calls to follow up and notify me of where they are with the issue - I get nothing. They always "forget" to call or have been "too busy".
Because the service was not getting fixed, I asked them to downgrade our service to a cheaper one since we were not receiving the service we paid for. They did as I asked and suddenly, our internet turned off completely. I called back and told them to put it back on the ultimate speed and they said they would be they would be raising my cost since I changed plans. Are you kidding me??
To this day, there has been no resolution and we are still paying for a service we are not receiving.
I can guarantee you, the very day we get the option of going with another provider, there will be NO hesitation. Cox is the worst company I have ever dealt with and I urge anyone who doesn't have to have them, not to even try them. Go with literally anyone else.
