So, in a tit-for-tat maneuver, I signed up Yelper M*$# for rowing this summer and he made me buy a tennis racket....and now we have a standing date on Sundays for an hour of "watch Pam try and hit the ball and miss it and go running after it". Well, at least it's a good workout for me!
Our first foray in teaching me a little bit of control over the ball occurred at the Lakewood Park tennis courts. Four courts available with artificial surface. There was another pair playing when we arrived on a blustery afternoon, but I can imagine that when the weather warms up a bit that there will be people waiting to get on a court.
The rest of the park looks well used (in a good way!), there was a ton of kids in the skateboard park when we were playing and a lot of little ones in the playground when we arrived. The pool looks like it's a great size and I'm sure the lifeguards will be kept busy with children in the summer....although the amount of children is one of the reasons I probably won't be taking a dip in the (yellow) pool water ;o)
I look forward to spending more time here during a long summer of Sunday tennis matches...I only hope that next time there won't be doggie poo on one side of the court, good thing I didn't hit the ball over that a way!
