I am absolutely smitten with the ambience of Henry Coffee XV. I'm a bibliophile by nature and the black and white vintage wallpaper, the eclectic-meets-classy love-seats, as well as the long wooden tables all culminate to create a storybook setting with all of us patrons, a cast of characters.
It's the perfect space to concentrate on projects but also a cozy place to catch up with a friend and indulge in coffee and dessert amidst an imaginative setting.
The menu boasts four specialty drinks in addition to its regular coffee offerings and I've tried The Cleo and The Wildflower so far. For both, the espresso is very smooth and strong but the flavors are very subtle compared to other cafes in the Valley; I believe this is their style so do tailor your expectations. I always order the smaller size, and this still keeps me energized for hours.
In addition, in honor of Girl Scout cookie month they've introduced this mind-blowing Samoa Doughnut! I thought it was just a glorified glazed doughnut but I was wrong- very wrong. It's a pastry stuffed with coconut cream that oozes out with every bite with the same coconut-chocolate caramel toppings that made us fall in love with Samoa cookies in the first place. This delicious baked good does not belong in the normal category of "donuts" as each one-inch thick pastry bite serves as a testament to its well-deserved "doughnut" title. I wish it were on the menu permanently, but until then try to catch them - they do tend to sell out!
Additional Tips: They also now carry Juby True juice, have multiple outlets, and are connected to The Henry.
