  • 2018 Phoenix Pet Expo FAIL! People lined up for over 30 minutes to buy tickets via credit cards, only to discover the credit card system wasn't working. What is wrong with these people? It's 2018! Haven't they heard of Square or any other number of WORKING POS systems that allow you to SWIPE credit cards on the spot?! This was a total disaster, and we'd brought EIGHT people to this event, ending up spending $5 for parking for NOTHING. In this day and age, not every working family carries cash around. Your vendors lost out on our purchases, and we lost out on an opportunity to teach our kids about companion animals. After years and years of free admission, the LEAST you could have done for the first year of charging to get in was to MAKE SURE YOUR CREDIT CARD SYSTEM WORKED!! It's not very hard--it just takes THINKING AHEAD, and courtesy for the people from whom you're making TONS of money. Shame, shame, shame! If you can't get enough corporate sponsors to make this event FREE, at least have the ethics to POST YOUR TICKET PRICES AT THE VENUE, and HAVE TECH PEOPLE WHO KNOW HOW TO FIX COMPUTER GLITCHES ON SITE! What a way to ruin our holiday weekend.
