| - We've been to this location twice. Yorkdale mall doesn't have a lot of food options for the whole family. The food court is small, and always packed. Some food booths you'll have to wait in line for 20 minutes just to place your order. Very hectic.
The other restaurants are geared towards adults even though they do have food options for your kids.
Since it's in a mall always expect that it will be busy, especially during the weekends.
When you first see the outside decor of the restaurant, it looks like a fun, happy place for family dining. It's definitely geared towards kids and families. Once you go inside, it's a little dark, very noisy and some tables are too close together.
Staff on both occasions look like they were at wits end, understandable with all the background noise, screaming kids, screaming parents and a few rude customers having issues about "mistakes" with their orders.
My kids like the chicken tidbits, tastes like Jane's chicken nuggets to me. Frozen, breaded chicken nuggets. On both occasions I had the Mojo bones(the ribs) and my wife had the Mountain chicken sandwich(1st visit) and the Amazon Fajitas(2nd visit)
On both occasions we had the wings for appetizers. Wings tasted like the Wings from Wing Machine. Sauce was not great, generic buffalo wing sauce, carrots and celery on the side.
The bones was similar to Swiss Chalet ribs. Cooked far too long and the sauce tasted like the Smokey BBQ sauce KFC uses on their boneless wings. Nothing you couldn't find anywhere else with the same generic sauces.
My wife didn't like the chicken sandwich. Chicken was dry, small sandwich. Nothing inspiring and very similar to chicken sandwiches at every other restaurant in Toronto. She liked the fajitas, the sauce was good but the rice was cold and hard. Small portions for the fajitas.
Was this place worth going to twice? Not really, food is not inspiring. Atmosphere is fun at first but the loud back ground noises and dim lighting wear you down after a while. Prices are very high for basic, frozen food recipes.
Would your kids like it? My kids liked the first visit because it's something different but didn't care as much for it on our second visit. If you don't expect much going in, you'll enjoy your first visit. Any other visit after that....................
A 2.75 star but in Yelps 5 star system, I hesitantly give 3 stars
