| - CN Tower is Toronto's version of the Space Needle in Seattle. Just like all other observation decks, you first pay outrageously expensive ticket price and then follow by a long waiting line to get to the observation deck. Not only that, it is REALLY difficult to navigate and find parking spots near the CN Tower. I found a Green P parking lot at 40 York St, Toronto, ON M5J 2P1 (entrance is located at University Ave, just right next to Jack Astor's) and maximum per 12 hour period from Sat 7 AM to Mon 7 AM is CAD $9.00.
Price: General admission is CAD $36 per adult, extra CAD $12 if you also want to do the Skypod. You can also pay CAD $89 for the Premiere experience - which is basically general admission + the Skypod + front of the line access. Keep in mind that the waiting time can be 2 ~ 3 hours and sometimes time is money, so it might not be a bad idea to pay more if you are only in Toronto for a short amount of time. If you are looking for a more extreme experience, then there's also the EdgeWalk (full circle HANDS-FREE walk around the ledge encircling the top of the main pod 1,168ft above the ground) for CAD $225 (includes a video, printed photos, certificate of achievement, general admission, and the SkyPod).
I got to the tower at 4:45 PM and the wait wasn't too bad (about 30 minutes to get to the elevators). Each elevators has glass-fronted windows and two glass floor panels in a portion of the floor (you can't even see any panels because elevators get pretty crowded). It takes each elevator about 1 minute to get to the LookOut Level. The Glass Floor (made from 20 glass panels) is located just down below the LookOut Level (you will need to go down the stairs). I have a slight fear of heights, but ultimately I did walk through the Glass Floor multiple times just fine. There's also another waiting line for the Skypod at the LookOut Level and I didn't get to try it due to lack of time.
Yes I am a sucker for tourist traps, but I would still recommend this attraction to any visitors (especially on a day with clear sky).
P.S. - There's a mail box located at the gift shop and all post cards sold at the gift shop automatically come with free shipping (at least to USA).
