| - Disclosure: This ain't my first waxing down-south rodeo.
Another disclosure: I am the queen of groupons.
So with that being said, you can bet I have progressed through a list of different waxing salons/studios in town and can provide fair comparisons. The ones that have decidedly sold their souls to the all-powerful groupon have given me discounted brazilians averaging $20. A quick search will yield about 30+ results, so Vegas, you know you've got options and opportunities to try new places for your hair-free needs.
Wax Hair Removal Bar occupies a single room inside Sudatonic, which is what the sign outside reads. Upon arrival, I was a little confused because there was no receptionist... just a bell on the desk, which I rang. No answer. So I decided to explore down the hallway and found the waxing room with the door closed. The esthetician was with another client, so I waited and sat on the bench.
The walls are thin enough to hear conversations, so I had overheard her try to sell more waxing services to the client inside. It was about 10-15 minutes after my scheduled appointment by the time Genesis was able to take me in. She apologized though. However, other places I've been to are a lot better at being punctual.
The room was clean. Baby wipes are provided for a refresher before the wax. A flatscreen TV was on the wall, so that was new and allowed a distraction between conversation. There's only so much you can talk about with your legs in butterfly position and exposed. The wax itself was a mix of both hard and soft. Like another reviewer had stated, it was a little more painful than I remember. She did a thorough job, but overall, I would not consider this my favorite session or studio.
