UPDATE:
I wanted to try them again after a couple months since new businesses tend to need to work out the kinks.
FOOD
I really wanted to try their cakes (not just cupcakes) since they have stunning wedding cakes and have glass domes filled with really tall cakes available by the slice.
I saw a tall coconut cake, but opted for the carrot cake. They said it has cream cheese buttercream; I could not taste much cream cheese in it, and the cake really needed that tang to balance it out. To me it's not carrot cake unless you have the classic cream cheese icing (don't dilute it with butter or shortening). The carrot cake tasted like the nutmeg you'd find in egg nog. Through their glass cake dome, I thought all the jet black bits were raisins -- but they were oxidized nuts. No pineapple in this variation. Extremely moist cake, but the large amount of baking soda left a slippery film in my mouth. Topped with a pile of pecans and a tiny drizzle of caramel that we couldn't really taste. The buttercream was too much. We are hearty eaters, but between two of us we could not finish one slice in one sitting because we hit a wall from the richness of the blah buttercream. After previous disappointment, I won't get any of their cake products again.
Bottomline, pretty food is not translating to tasty food or food that I'll ever crave. Shame because I REALLY want to like this place since it's so stinkin' cute.
They usually have little samples by the register.
PRODUCTS
They seem to sell the tall cake stands if you're looking for a gift or to decorate.
SERVICE & ALLERGIES
Staff seem to be able to answer questions about products, which gives me confidence that they could help guide those with food allergies. They definitely have nuts in their recipes, so not a nut-free environment.
HOURS
They are closed in the evening (possibly by 6:30pm).
