The $1.99 special sign drew us in while we were shopping around Chinatown and we were in the mood. Warning, the shop is in an awkward location. There is a small space for about 6 people max at the top of a flight of stairs where you place your order. People coming in and out are always bumping into those in line to order, so make sure you sit against the wall when waiting for your drink. There was also a weird smell in the place, like a cross between cigarette smoke, bad cologne, and something rank.
The tea itself was meh. I got the original flavor with green tea. I couldn't taste the tea at all because there was too much creamer. It basically tasted like watered-down milk with tapioca pearls. The tapioca I will say was cooked pretty well, chewy and bouncy. While cheap, I'm banking on others places next time I'm in the area.
