Hopefully the owner will pay attention to these Yelp reviews and see that the customer service needs some serious help. I've shopped here a few times and I'm reluctant to go back because the store is usually so busy with only ONE person working. That means it's impossible to get help, and you'll have a long wait if you want to check out. I've had to leave without making a purchase twice because I would've missed my movie or dinner date because I was made to wait so long!
The store is very attractive and is fun to browse. I like how you can try free samples of all of the oils in the store. I use olive oil solely for cooking, and they sell several with very low smoke points (very important for roasting vegetables in the oven)! It seems like the shop is geared towards "bread dippers" instead of real cooks, so if you are looking for a flavored oil (gross!) to put out with a loaf of bread at your next party, this is your place.
I've purchased a few bottles of olive oil and I'd rate the quality as just okay. It's certainly not the best, and it's definitely not worth the marked up high prices this place charges. Note that you must purchase the glass bottle your oil comes in as well as the oil itself!
Bottom line: you can get much better olive oil and far better prices at any ethnic market in the city (or by shopping online). I am a firm believer that you do indeed pay for quality, but there's nothing here in terms of the product or the service that makes it a good deal.
