My adorable dog loves Pet Supplies Plus, it being one of her food suppliers. And whether dinner or treat, she's always quick to compliment her "personal chef" for the fresh fare served in-house.
Also---speaking on behalf of another seemingly well-satisfied patron of the outdoor patio---so does a Pterodactyl descendant---by about 100 million years---the colorful and prehistoric-looking, Piliated Woodpecker. I'll admit it---I can't stop feeding wildlife. I'm addicted. But it's too much fun, so any intervention will be useless. And thanks to Pet Supplies Plus, I have a friendly neighborhood source to replenish my stock of affordable seeds---in a widely varied assortment.
In addition to "Pterry" (always arrives alone, so don't know if there are others), several more species---from singles, to parties of two three four...to groups of ten or twenty at a time---including mourning doves, cardinals, finches, sparrows, nuthatches, and chickadees---fly in for the free food and freshly-poured on-the-house drinks, available from three large shallow ground level bird baths. (Chipmunks, rabbits, and squirrels, too, are frequent and welcomed visitors.) Since these baths are multi-use---both for drinking AND bathing---water is refreshed daily---sometimes more frequently---especially after more rowdy gatherings.
This casual, come-as-you-are trendy spot with it's inviting ambiance, in a colorful flower and plant-filled patio setting, is an avian favorite for dining, throwing back a few, taking a pleasant dip, even lingering afterwards, chilling, and just bird-watching from shepherd hooks, tree branches, or roof tops. And, yes, there's the occasional---hardly discreet---romantic encounters, too. An all-around amazing, laid-back, fun-filled atmosphere---a great place to just hang out for eating, meeting, and tweeting. Since first opening, it's approval ratings have steadily increased, requiring remodeling, new additions, and extra perches. And although it can get quite crowded---and waiting for a free spot might take some time---patrons are patient enough, and willing to wait.
Daily entertainment is provided by Cirque du Hum---the dazzlingly iridescent and talented hummingbird troop. Astounding feats of hovering mid-air, high-flying, speed-diving, dueling, and charging after one another (or any encroaching insects) who happen to get too close to the nectar feeders they're guarding---are all quite impressive acts, and ones not to be missed. Absolutely breathtaking !
