I had a preview of Station at a yelp event at the Children's museum. Out of all the restaurants that were there, Station stood out to me and all it took was a very tasty and earthy carrot salad. They let me know that they were scheduled to open in Bloomfield in July and I've had it on my list to visit.
Last night I had that opportunity and it was great. We were a large group and I called and made reservations ahead of time. They called me the day before to confirm. And when we arrived, we were promptly seated. The chicken wings were off-the-hook delicious. We got the carrot salad that was equally tasty. The Belgian endive salad was okay for me, but the others in my party loved it.
For my main, I had the pork tagliatelle with the farm poached egg. This dish did not disappoint. The pork delivered just the right amount of salt and had enough jus to soak up the pasta.
The restaurant filled up quickly on this Friday night. The noise level was moderate, but didn't interfere too much with normal conversation. Station seems like it would easily become my go-to bar. The only drawback is that I don't live too close to make frequent visits. I'll definitely be back though. Highly recommend this place.
