| - Some of you may or may not know that the creator of Chandler Cosmetic, Dr. Carlos, has retired. When I found out about this and learned that Dr. Pham took over his practice, I couldn't imagine how this change would be good (like, what a tough act for Dr. Pham to follow).
Then yesterday I went to Dr. Pham for a consult about pain in a tooth. Wow~!@# was I ever impressed with how he treated me. I found Dr. Pham to be an easy-to-understand explainer (he also teaches at the dental school) AND a good listener (I could tell it was important to him to understand my experience of the tooth) AND, most of all, I could see in his eyes that he cared about me; I mattered.
Here are some details that made me like Dr. Pham: he took his time and was patient in evaluating and analyzing the tooth. He pointed to the x-ray and explained what he saw that was causing my pain. He was patient, still, when I asked a lot of questions (I do that). It was like I was the only patient in the world (I am not, of course).
He also explained my options which amazingly included a low cost option which he shared "could work by doing x and x, but it may not". He was willing to try (most dentists in my past would just have a staff member put a 'treatment plan' in front of me with the total amount due -zero stars for these dental salesmen. The bottom line is that I believed my tooth situation mattered to him as if I was a family member.
I don't know what you're looking for in a dentist but I suggest that you either go in to interview Dr. Pham or, if a concern, now, go in for a 'consult' with him. Oh, and I suggest that you go into the appointment organized with all your questions and be sure to ask if there is a charge for the 'consult'.
Good luck and good dental health for you and us all.
Paul
