  • Apple, I enjoy your products, sometimes question your business model, and remain undecided about your staff. I've had a couple of good experiences at this store. You know, where you have a question and it's politely, accurately, and thoroughly answered. I'd definitely like to shout out to Julie, who recently explained that since she doesn't work on commission, the only reason she asked so many questions was to make sure we were happy and not buying things we don't need. Thank you, Julie, for doing everything right! However, for every Julie I've encountered at this location, there have been 2-3 sales people who have been well aware that Apple has the power and the typical Apple-eyed customer has learned to be grateful with whatever service they can get. This has been most evident in whoever does phone duty (woe to you if you ask for clarification... assuming anyone picks up the phone in the first place), but I see it also when I just drop in to casually browse. The devotees humbly put up with bad communication, long wait times, and poorly organized (and even more poorly monitored) queues in order to get their preciousssesss. BIG ADVICE: If you're shopping for an unlocked iPhone - and if you are, then you know how exhausting that can be in Las Vegas - show up as soon as the store opens. Don't show up at noon, as one associate said was the firm policy - the phones will all be gone by then. Don't bother trying to "reserve" one on the website "after 9 p.m. the night before" - as another associate offered. The stock will always show up as empty, and the "reservation" only works if the store gets the phone in the next day. And keep in mind that the staff has no idea what their stock will be the next day or any future day, so it's all a big shrug anyway. And don't call to ask if they have any unlocked iPhones in stock because - hello peon! - don't you know you're supposed to huddle with the throng in front of the store at 10 a.m. and hope for the best? Stop asking questions and trying to rise above your station! Granted, the above describes issues with the mystique Apple cultivates (as well as its trickle-out policies regarding unlocked phones), for which an individual store can't be faulted, but this location *could* do a better job of providing consistent information and not treating its customers like they should a) already know all of the Soup Nazi Dance Steps and b) tolerate rude service or bad information because, hey, shiny gadget! I like this store's physical location in Town Square - right around the corner from the south parking garage and kind of equidistant from most of the hot spots. I think accessory selection could be better. The phone cases were all very samey (in design, not fashion) on my last visit - we had better luck with variety when going to Fry's. However, a friend of mine did get this Apple store to price-match something he saw across the road at Fry's for a bit cheaper, so kudos to the staff for that. Three stars for location, cleanliness, presentation, and the Julies. Minus two stars for conflicting information (we tried for weeks to get an unlocked iPhone and, believe me, heard it ALL), arrogant policies, the large groups of middle- and high-schoolers that frequently overrun this location, and for the non-Julies who are secure in the ability to alienate the casual Apple customer without worrying about the bottom line.
