| - I have been going here for 16 years. I don't know what happened.
My cat had symptoms so I called & took her in. They said Dr. Benesh wasn't there, but should be back for my appt. (which was 3 days out I think), but if he decided to extend his "leave", they had a fill in vet for my appt. Hmmm.. OK. I went, the fill in vet (from So. Dakota) was nice, and the office seemed a bit in disarray (I had to take her and weigh her myself, they forgot).
The new fill in Vet & Tech were nice and seemed competent, and looked at her teeth and said she needed several molars removed-they were badly infected.
I asked the staff if Dr. Benesh would be back the following week so that HE would be the one doing surgery; they said he was SUPPOSED to be, but he MAY extend his leave again-they would let me know Monday (Surgery was Tues).
I didn't want to wait till the DAY BEFORE, so I called them today (Fri). I was told he is extending his return again-another week.
I asked WHO would be the doctor doing my cats surgery (so I could check them out). She stammered and said they really didn't know-they were trying to get someone to fill in again.
Needless to say I cancelled the surgery (they probably would have on Monday anyway), and had to SCRAMBLE to find a new Vet to do it.
Of course the new Vet won't accept the pre surgical that was done-they always have to do their own. So now my cat has to go BACK on Monday, added stress, then back again Tuesday for a surgery. They squeezed me in and they have great reviews.
I will let you know what I think when all is done, but the front office girl was terrific!
I don't know what is up-but SOMETHING is certainly up with Dr. B.
I will be writing and asking for my pre-surgery $$ credited back.
And here's and interesting thing, that I actually DID notice at the time, and GOODNESS I'm glad I said NO three times: They kept asking if I wanted to pay for the whole surgery-up front. ? What?
They never asked me that in all these years. I can't say why they did, but it seemed weird to me.
Do yourself a favor and find a vet who is dependable. I wish him the best, but my cats health is my priority.
