| - While Travelodge tends to be on the lower end of hotels, for what the name stands for, this hotel definitely earns 4 stars. For starters, this location is excellent. Close to Chinatown, and not far from the center or Old Town Montreal, this is a great spot. The Latin Quarter is also not that far away if you're willing to walk. You are not far from access to the underground tunnel system either, so in winter, you can make your way around town without any problem.
We had a small two single bed room on the first floor. This wasn't ideal, but it suited our needs, and the cost was not something to complain about. But the room was small... so just be aware that it may be crowded. Either way, we made it home for two days. The room was clean, well heated, and the beds were comfortable. I only wished for another pillow. I suppose I could have asked for one, but I made do.
Our room was also near the elevator, and while I guess you can't do much to control other people, it was loud on Saturday evening...
Breakfast is complimentary, and as far as continental breakfasts go, this one was ok. Fruit, mass-produced croissants and pan du chocolates... but ok if you need something to get you going in the morning. Hard boiled eggs and yogurt are also available in addition to a variety of cereals.
There is also a small workout room if you need it. With all the walking we did, I wasn't in the market for a jaunt on a treadmill, but it's there if you need it.
A limited number of on-site parking spaces are available. We were able to get a spot for two days at a price of $20/day. Worth it to keep our ride warm and secure for the duration of our stay. Check with the front desk to ask about parking.
Overall, our experience here was good! I would recommend this location, and would definitely consider it again for a future visit to Montreal.
