| - I have been going to SeeFu Studio for 7 years and I always make an appointment with Vincent.
Since my first appointment, Vincent has always given me the cut and style that I have wanted. I describe what I want and he puts his input and advice as to why something may not work and what would be better. What I like is that there is always communication between us. I have gone to many salons and studios before finding Vincent and many of the stylists either don't listen to what you want and take their own creative liberties, or they give you what you want while knowing it's not going to work out because some things that you're asking for don't make sense together. For example, I was used to having my hair thinned out by previous stylists because I have a lot of hair and when I first went to Vincent I wanted a blunter cut but to thin out my hair out as well, he advised me that I shouldn't thin my hair for this look because it wouldn't look right with the blunt cut I was asking for, and I appreciated his honesty and expertise.
With every wash you get a nice scalp massage, and once you're finished washing you're guided back to the chair where you receive a neck, back and arm rub. I enjoy every minute of it, but if you don't want the massage you can let them know.
The staff are always respectful and nice. You can chat with the person who is cutting/washing your hair if you want, or it's perfectly comfortable to sit there in silence. I really enjoy not having to feel pressured to chat the whole entire time.
Though it's located in Chinatown I often see a lot of non-Asian clientele, for those of you who may be hesitant to go because you think it's a Chinese only place (although I don't know why what would be an issue). They have Chinese magazines and English magazines as well (Chatelaine, US weekly, the usual).
If you're looking for a new place to do your hair or you're in the neighbourhood, I highly recommend you give SeeFu a try.
