| - Update Mon., Sept. 17... evening... about the time I'd be playing piano at Golden Buddha. If you're having dinner at home, here's a youtube playlist of 14 songs by Dorothy and me while at Golden buddha complete with restaurant sounds in the background... that will give you a bit of a feel for what it was like.

Update Mon., Sept. 17, 2012 by the Piano Player at Golden Buddha-- I drove down last night, Sunday evening at 6 pm ... and Golden Buddha's sign is gone, the front windows are blacked out and it's locked up. The Fat Lady has sung... in this case, the fat Golden Buddha has resigned. It's as over as over can be, I think. I haven't heard anything on the gravevine either. It's dead silence from all around. The rest of the plaza is half occupied-- with Super L grocery, Sechwan Restaurant which remains reasonably busy, the Doctor's Chinese Herb office and a few great gift shops. The piano can be seen deep inside the restaurant... now fallen silent, however. If you know of a piano in a restaurant that someone wants played, let me know. Email me, Rick, at rick_potvin@yahoo.com. (Laura must have been referring to prior to August 18... )
Update Sat. Sept. 15, 2012. Laura (above) messaged me saying GB is open... but I was down there last Tues. and the sign was down... everything locked up. I've asked Laura to phone me to try to understand this confusion. It makes no sense. I called the GB phone and it's down. How can Laura be witnessing something completely different from my own observation just 4 days ago?
Update... Laura's post above doesn't make sense to me because on 9/5/12 GB is still shut down. I've messaged her.
Test ....Update... I'll be hopefully getting an update today. I reviewed the note on the door and the legalese in the 3rd paragraph seems to say that the situation is in the courts... suggesting a dispute... that is currently unresolved. I drove down to look at it the other day and the windows have not been sealed and sign has not been taken down which is what the COFCO center does when a business closes for good. I mean-- it still looks hopeless to me but I cannot dismiss the possibility of reopening 100% just yet.
