| - This is the 4th escape room I've been to (the other 3 being in Texas) but this was an absolutely jaw-dropping experience. Out of all the escape rooms I had been to, I have been a part of anything as as immersive as the escape room challenge my group participated in here ("Shipwrecked"). In the initial room of the challenge, I was already impressed by the decorations, ambiance, and story (it is legitimately "spooky", for those who may be going with younger groups). But then I discovered there were several other parts to the "escape room", making it much much larger than it first seems. Unfortunately, there's not much more I can say without giving away too much of the challenge... but the full-blown commitment to immersion here is amazing and helped make this an absolutely thrilling experience.
Some suggestions to Codescape:
- It seemed like our guide was new to telling the story before we entered the room as his delivery was not incredibly fluid. This was not really an issue, but this is a potential area of improvement that could also help with setting the mood for the challenge.
- To me, I felt like the challenge was a little bit too difficult... after our time ran out, our guide was kind enough to reveal the areas where we felt short. Basically, perhaps it was our fault but we missed out on a good portion of the game...
- In some instances, we "solved" the puzzle but the locks didn't give way unless we used excessive force.
Overall, this was one of the best escape room experiences I've had so far!
