Phoenix City Grille was fantastic. It's polished casual from the decor and the price point but the staff seems to be a veteran staff who has a firm commitment of being the local place where all the neighbors can enjoy a fantastic meal. We dined at the bar for happy hour and instructed the bartender to send us his favorites. We were impressed by all of his choices. The Green Chile Queso Dip was delicious and came out piping hot, the Sweet Corn Griddle Stack was surprisingly delicious. The pool of black beans toned down the sweetness of the cakes and the chicken and cheese stuffed inside made for a tasty bite. The only thing we didn't totally enjoy was the beet salad. For a beet salad we expected it to be beet heavy and it seemed to be more of an afterthought. Overall, it was a pleasant experience and we will be back.
