| - I had the unfortunate experience of living here while stationed at Nellis AFB. The only slightly redeeming thing about it is it's close proximity to to the front gate of Nellis. If you are stationed there and worry about car troubles, you can walk across one road and be at the gate. This is where the perks end.
Things to consider before wasting your hard earned money:
1. Eagle Trace is one of the least expensive apartment complexes in Las Vegas. Now, this might sound appealing at first, but understand that all the "trash" lives there, and that will effect you in more ways that you might think. My personal experiences with other occupants: being woken up at 1am, on a work day, by nothing less than one of the most ignorant screaming matches I have ever heard, having to leave the filthy and freezing pool, not only because it is filthy and freezing, but also because of the drunk idiots that came out after me and for some reason thought I might be "interested," and after leaving two personal notes and one from the office on someone's car to please stop parking in our assigned spot, or we will have them towed, coming home from work on the forth day and STILL having the same car in our spot. Did they not speak English? I'll never know. If they didn't, hopefully the impound lot had someone who could inform them, in whatever language they spoke, why they were towed.
2. You will be located on the east side. If you are not familiar with Las Vegas, I will let you in on a local's secret...you only want to live on the west side. In fact, if you are shopping around for apartments, and have some that you are considering on the east side, stop and only consider the west side. It may be slightly more expensive, but it is much more safe. Depending on the time of night on the east side, you could probably run into hookers and gang members. I'm not joking.
3. This is a little personal, and won't apply to everyone, but I feel it's worth giving you all a warning about. After living at Eagle Trace for twelve months, I had finally had enough and decided I wanted to move. My husband and I had been going back and forth about the issue though, so we had already signed a new lease that would officially start about two or so weeks from the date we signed it. I figured that it would not be an issue to just knoll-and-void that lease because it hadn't started it anyway. Makes sense, right? Wrong. The office said that we would be breaking the lease, and charged us $1,600 just to leave that Hell hole. Was it worth it? Yes. Did it validate why I wanted to leave in the first place? Yes. Did it give me another reason to write this horrible review, and hope that no one ever subjects themselves to that disgusting and unaccommodating place again? Yes.
You're welcome. :)
