This review is about reserving and hosting events at Lakewood Park.
We were looking for a great place to host a pre-wedding BBQ for out of town guests in June, and Lakewood Park was the perfect place. The whole process to reserve was very smooth + easy, and the park itself is beautiful.
Reserving: You have to reserve pavilion space by calling the park. The coordinator was very responsive, always returning my calls and leaving voicemails when I was unavailable. We chose to go with the Kiwanis pavilion (outdoor), which is $50/section to reserve. There is also an indoor pavilion with a kitchen (no grills though) that is $200 to reserve if you are a Lakewood resident. We reserved months in advance -- in fact, we reserved right when reservations opened up this season -- because it's a popular place!
Park: The park is beautiful and gives many options for all ages. There's a really great playground for kids with lots of cultural diversity. There's a pool, and even a skate park! We mostly utilized the pavilion and grassy areas, good for outdoor games. There's a volleyball court and baseball fields available too.
One of the best parts of the park is the walkway along the lake. There's a great view of the city skyline and a few little paths down to the water.
Out of town guests commented that the park was beautiful and even the drive itself through grand old Lakewood was memorable. They enjoyed their "first look" at Cleveland and a great time was had by all!
