  • I've been playing catchup with many of friends and no better way to get together than over a good meal and drinks. One the main reasons we hit up Carlsbad is because it's my buddy's local spot and our meetup location for some night bicycle riding with dinner and drinks to follow. They have a good discounted happy hour after 10pm. The crowd numbers can be seasonal so a lot of times it's pretty empty, but service is really good and prompt to accommodate. I don't think I've eaten outdoors but the patio area is nice and ideal when the weather cools to have a nice size group meeting. This trip, I went away from my usual hamburger & fries (which I've done many times in the past) and went for the Fish & Chips. It came with this salsa salad on the side... I didn't mess with it but my buddy said it was good. Nice batter, texture and crunch for the fish and a few Moscow Mules to top it off. Future visits are planned and will look to expand my choices with the menu as they are 'New Mexican Cuisine restaurant'
