| - My fiancé and I decided to book this tour after seeing it advertised on Groupon. Unfortunately, it wasn't the best spent day. Knowing what we know now, we would not have gone on this trip, but there were a couple of things we did appreciate.
The trip started early in the morning. The girl checking us in was pretty snotty, which should have been a sign of their customer service expectations for their employees. Then everyone just waits around for their bus without any direction of where to go, but it's not rocket science. Everyone found our bus okay. They also had coffee, snacks, and juice which was nice.
The bus driver was obviously annoyed from the beginning, but I would be too if I had to deal with a bunch of rude tourists everyday. (Oh yeah, our fellow travelers we terrible. Some we so rude and disgusting...being stuck on a cramped bus with them was almost unbearable.)
The trip out was okay. We stopped a couple times and had a good buffet lunch. The only downside was that all four buses stopped at the same place at the same time, so it was uncomfortably crowded in the restaurant.
Once we were at the Grand Canyon, we spent 45 minutes at the visitors center and almost 2 hours at one of the lodges. It was enough time to get a drink and walk around, but not enough to do any hiking.
The real downside to the trip was at the very end. After 14 hours of traveling (we left at 7:30am and got back to Vegas at 9:30pm), the driver had to stop at a half dozen hotels to drop people off!?! So this huge bus went all over town for what felt like forever before we could go back to the place we started and get our car. I'm sure the people staying downtown appreciated it, but was a nightmare for is. It seems that it would be best to have all four buses unload at the same place and shuttle from there to various casinos.
