| - First of all, I spent about 5 minutes talking to a salesperson because my Tahoe has 250K on it and I am thinking it's time for a new one. (Looks rough, but runs like a top!) The salesperson, Angel, was great. Very professional, informed. I WOULD buy a car from him. I would NOT buy a car from Van.
Their service department is horrible. We took my little SUV in for a recall. DH called a couple of days ahead and set up the appointment for the next day, but said we would be bringing it in the afternoon before. We showed up about 5 pm. The guy at the service counter got smart-mouthed because we "missed our appointment to check the car in". I have never heard of needing an appointment to drop your car off! DH says he remembers the guy said something about three, but then DH asked them what time the service center closed, which why would he ask that if he understood there was an appointment? In the midst of writing up the order, the guy walked away and we stood there for almost 8 minutes waiting for him to come back, which he did, without apology or explanation. DH was getting really peed off, he was about ready to just grab the keys and we'd head over to the Chevy dealer in Glendale.
The next day DH calls after noon to see when SUV ready to pick up and he is advised that they are waiting for the part that has to be replaced for the recall so it won't be ready until the next day. Uh---didn't we call three days in advance and make an appointment and tell them it was for the recall? Wouldn't it have been pro-active to have the part in-house? Oh, and btw, evidently our rear brakes are bad, our hoses are leaking, this is wrong, that is wrong---but they'll fix all that for a mere $1800.00. And they will quote us for our bald tires. WTF? DH grits out: just fix the recall part.
The car is ready the next day. They did wash it. That was nice. Otherwise, it's the same car that it ever was---
We are Chevy people, we have a Tahoe and a Trailblazer SS. But I don't think we will ever be Van Chevrolet people.
