I wish that I could give them less than one star. Even though I have made appointments, the wait has always been unbelievably long, both before my car is received and for the oil change.
More importantly, however, I my disgust with their aggressive sales tactics and desire to push additional services. In my opinion the vast majority of their recommendations only provide a negligible benefit. I believe that these recommendations are often fueled by avarice and greed, rather than necessity and maintenance.
Midas will almost inevitably recommend an air filter for $21.99, but the part is typically about $10 and could easily be installed by my blind grandmother in under 30 seconds.
Midas will also almost certainly recommend that you balance your tires, but most tire sellers will balance and rotate your tires for free for life after purchase. Again, this is a low-labor, high margin up-sell tactic, in my opinion.
My girlfriend was there recently and I have reason to believe that their sales tactics are even more aggressive and convoluted with female customers.
Buyer beware.
