| - My name is Thayne, LV163. I am a powerful, authentic, loving man. It pains me to write this review. I was enrolled by a good friend back in May of 2017. I completed Discovery, Breakthrough and Leadership training and also volunteered for my wife's third weekend.
I had a very difficult childhood characterized by extreme abuse. It pretty much wrecked me most of my life and I spent years running until eventually that baggage caught up to me and it was ruining everything in my life.
While my training was very hard on me personally I learned a ton about myself and frankly made some of the best personal progress I have ever made. I also met and made some of the most amazing friends that despite all of this....they are all still very close friends that I love and adore dearly.
The EQ courses offered by Choice Center are effective but the business practices of the organization are highly questionable. My wife and I signed up to take the Relationship class and I waited almost a year for my wife to complete the core training. We were so excited to get to take our first class together. Unfortunately, the first night we were treated very poorly by the class because my wife and I have an alternative lifestyle. The people in the class judged us and made us feel very uncomfortable.
That evening we complained to our coach about our experience being somewhat bulls****, feeling horribly judged and offended by people in the room, and we weren't sure we would return. We decided the next morning to give it one more try but were also going to take a few minutes in the morning to let the trainer, Sylvia, know about how we were being treated and to call the class out on treating my wife so poorly.
The class had difficulty opening up and so the trainer was going after and challenging people in the lobby. At the end, she landed on us and said "What's up with you two, I heard you weren't coming back and felt like the training was bull****?". I replied and stated "Yes, our experience thus far has been somewhat bull****". Then without an opportunity to explain how offended and poorly we had been treated Sylvia said "You need to go" and made hand gestures indicating we weren't welcome.
We left heart broken and humiliated . Our experience thus far had always been good at the Center so we were quite shocked to be discriminated against and treated poorly by the class and the trainer with such disregard for our mental well being.
Nobody from the center called to check on us. For over a month I called and asked to get a simple apology and/or explanation from Sylvia. I spoke repeatedly with Donelle the office manager and left multiple messages via phone and facebook for Robyn Williams to return my call. Donelle repeatedly tried to help us here and encouraged Robyn multiple times to call me back. Robyn doesn't listen. She is too proud.
Prior to being kicked out of class I had six other people scheduled to take the classes this summer that I paid $1,800 in deposits for. We had also signed up for the VIP package and Relationships was to be our first course, and we paid the first two deposits and they pulled one month out of our checking for a total $486. They have no right to this money. They kicked us out of the class and discriminated against us.
After this experience we cannot recommend this course or Choice Center to our friends and family. We have asked repeatedly to have monies owed to us (classes we paid for that we are unable to get any economic benefit from) be returned in the amount of $2,286 but we are told no and it is against policy. THEY KICKED US OUT. WE DIDN'T LEAVE! WE WERE KICKED OUT BECUASE WE ARE DIFFERENT. WE GOT KICKED OUT BECAUSE WE STOOD UP FOR WHO WE ARE. WE GOT JUDGED BY THE VERY PEOPLE WHO CLAIM THEY DON'T JUDGE.
So while the courses offered at Choice Center are effective and useful, I would not recommend this institution to anybody. This is a business disguised as a non-profit. Once they have your money, you mean nothing to them as evidenced by the lack of follow-up by the management and most specifically the owner, Robyn Williams. She needs to take her own courses. While she will sit there and dish out feedback, she needs to stand in front of the mirror and look at herself. This woman does NOT practice what she preaches. She is not good in her word. She is unethical. She is irresponsible and she is wreckless with people's lives. I was very hurt by how we were treated and yet Robyn you didn't even have the decency to return a call or an email. Shame on you Robyn. You of all people know better.
What was originally a great experience has turned into a horrible experience. I would not recommend Choice Center to anyone. Not even an enemy!
