| - Thoroughly unimpressed by this place, possibly due to all of the hype. I for the life of me cannot understand the process for ordering. You wait in line forever, but feel rushed to order because you can only ask questions once you get to the front of the line. And you don't want to be that customer that takes 5 minutes inquiring about the expansive menu. Everyone will hate you for it. To make things worse, they only have ONE cashier. This establishment should accommodate the vastly growing crowd. But it appears that they want customers to feel like they're dining at an exclusive place; they could make changes but they seem to think they don't need to. There is another guy at the front counter that strictly grabs drinks and uncorks wine bottles. He could be of much more use elsewhere, such as also taking orders. I don't like that you have to tip up front. Personally, I always tip 20%, but when you're forced to grab all of your own eating utensils and seat yourself, I'm not sure what service I was tipping for. The cashier also stated that "maybe someone will seat you if you stand at the bottom of the stairs but I don't really know what's going on right now." And when I went upstairs to find a seat the waitress was very rude in accommodating seating for us.
We ordered the wings and they did not disappoint. They were flavorful and needed no extra sauces. I got the ribeye platter with a side of corn on the cob and vegetables. I requested medium well steak and basically got medium instead. The guy at the counter stated that the ribeye tasted better as medium or medium rare, so I think they chose to cook my steak as they saw fit. The corn had no seasoning whatsoever. Not worth getting. The vegetables were cooked nicely on the grill, but then they were paired with a sweet sauce that did not complement the dish well. My boyfriend also had the ribeye platter with a side of corn mash and potatoes. A few of his pieces were so burnt that you couldn't even eat them. The potatoes had no seasoning and the mash was just okay.
Overall it seemed that other than having the grill flavor, there were no extra seasonings on most of the food. The wings were excellent and that's the only positive I could think from the experience. I agree with others when they say that you want to get your money's worth. I want to feel like I'm paying $65 for a meal and not at a fast food joint. Also, advertise on the website that you have a BYOB policy so that out of towners are aware. The service in general left a bitter taste in my mouth.
