Recently used Ben's service to look at a projection tv I had after replacing the lamp in it twice to have the same problem occur. Quick enough to respond back to messages but a bit gruff on the phone. He told me it was still probably a bad lamp and the cheap one's online are to be avoided. I thought 2 replacements in a row was rare so just wanted to be sure it was the lamp.
He came over and managed to piss my wife off in the two minutes he was there. Walked right in like he lived there and didn't say hi, spent a minute and proclaimed it was the lamp without even waiting the 5 minutes for it to fail, told her he could either replace it or just order another one offline and left as quickly as he came in.
Overall very rude. I'd give him a lower rating but he is probably right about the lamp being bad (but didn't take to the time verify) and didn't charge for the visit.
Update: Tried a 3rd, more premium lamp - same problem. I had another company come in to look at the tv after that. They determined that the color wheel had gone bad and repaired it to working condition. Ben had told my wife that he had checked the color wheel in that short time he was there. Not only was he wrong about the lamp, he didn't even check something he said he had. So rude and incompetent. I wouldn't trust this guy to fix his hair. He deserves a 0 star.
