| - I have a hard time giving this even 2 stars because, like so many others, I know how much Rachel does for these events and how much she wants us to enjoy them. Unfortunately, it was just not done well. I don't know that I have much to add to what any of the other reviews stated about the event. We were informed that they were down a bartender and a server, but I feel as though they should have done everything in their power to get some extra coverage with the knowledge that a large crowd of people who are going to write a review of their restaurant would be coming.
I also want to caveat that the executive chef was out of town for this event, so maybe he would have created more flavorful bites of food for us to eat. I'm not sure why you would schedule an event like this when your main chef isn't around.
On the plus side, even though it took way too long to get the drinks and food, the bartenders and servers were very friendly. Despite not being able to hear most of what was said by the general manager, I got the impression she really did have a passion for the restaurant and wanting it to succeed in creating a hotel restaurant that is more accessible for locals and their wallets while highlighting local cuisine and drinks. Many of the beers are local, and the cocktails seem to be made with local spirits when possible.
While the event was a bit mismanaged, the restaurant was beautiful inside, and the food we ordered off the menu was delicious. I would be willing to give Fl. 2 a shot for a nice date night.
