| - 1 star is too good for this joke of a car rental facility. I read the reviews online before renting, but was willing to give it a shot. That was a mistake. I even had my insurance company produce (and brought) a "certificate of proof of insurance for rental cars in Canada" hoping to avoid all the hidden charges talked about - but I never even got that far...
First off, the service is the worst I have experienced. The staff do not give a shit about customers, I was the only person there and still had to wait 10+ mins in front of the counter before I was even acknowledged. They were talking amount themselves walking around - I have a high B.S. tolerance level (very high) but this pissed even me off. Not even a "Just one moment" which would have been enough to satisfy me for a long time. Totally ignored for quite a while. My wife has a much lower threshold for BS than me so I was trying to keep her calm and avoid an international incident, but I should have just let that apocalypse happen while smiling. Oh well.
Anyway, that is not the worst of it. My flight was delayed and I missed my reservation time by about 2 hours, so after I finally did get service...my reservation had been canceled. That is annoying BUT I was technically late so I accept that - though most acengcies will still be happy to rent you a car at said rate if they have one. Which is why I am pissed here: instead of helping me rebook, they're like, sorry - you have to use your smartphone to rebook online wherever you found us before. I was like "Can you not rebook here?" Indeed they cannot/will not. So after struggling with the slow internet service (I do not have highspeed data in Canada) 30 mins later I finally realized to rebook would change my rate from $70USD to $300USD. (for 2 days)
Thank god for uber, I uber'd the hell out of that place and rebooked with Alamo the next day. Got a VERY nice car, no insurance or fuel BS, for a better rate, and good service to boot!
Avoid these people like the plague.
