A week before I brought my vehicle in I was quoted $149.00 Monsoon detail to clean the inside (shampoo rugs, seats and floor mats, doors, door jams, dash board, as well as steam cleaned the material on the inside of the doors) Outside was a wash and carnuba wax. When I arrived another employee who suspected was a supervisor told me that the car needed to be clay bar prior to applying the wax and that was going to be an additional $50.00. Clay bar application is a process of removing contaminants off the clear coat, which allows the wax job to do a better job of protecting the paint. Otherwise all you would be doing is putting wax over contaminants and the results would not look as good. At first I thought that should have been a part of the initial quote. But because my vehicle did have tree sap on it I approved the clay bar and extra $50.00. It was suppose to take only 2 1/2 hrs, but it took them 5 hrs to complete the detail. However, the detailer, I believe his name was Ruben told me that the seats were really stained and that he didn't want to let my car go without getting the stains out. After researching the process of clay barring a vehicle and the process of shampooing the water spots from the seats I didn't mind paying the extra $50.00. In all I ended up paying $199.00 and it was money well spent. Ruben did a great job and my vehicle came out looking really nice. I forgot to mention they clean the engine compartment as well. The vehicle looked like it came off a show room. I only gave 4 stars because it took twice as long as they said it would and I didn't plan on being there that long. Otherwise, you can tell Ruben takes pride in his work as my freshly detailed car speaks for itself.
