  • I have lived here for a year and here's what I have to say: Management: Pretty awful. Cindy is a joke. She has no idea what she's doing and she is almost never there. After almost a year and a half living here we got a notice on our door about marijuana use outside and inside our apartment home. We don't smoke, but our neighbors are constantly out on their patio tokin' and blasting music. How they made the mistake that it was us, the world may never know. When we went in to talk to someone about it they said it went out to everyone in our area of the complex, but my other neighbor told us she never got one and she lives beneath the people who are actually smoking. Needless to say we will be double-checking that we don't have false claims in our file when we move because even though they said it won't stay in there I don't trust the management here for a second. They even increased our rent when we renewed our lease due to "high demand" even though they always have roughly the same number of units available. Security: Security here is also a joke. They have one person roaming the entire complex and the front gate has been missing the left side for TWO weeks now. One of the guys just sits in his car literally all night and doesn't even move. Gee, wonder why my boyfriend's car got broken into along with several other cars. However, security DOES pay enough attention to lock the pool areas 30 minutes before they're supposed to. But apparently that's okay since Cindy says they close at 10-ish, not 10 as it states on our lease agreement. My Unit: When we first moved in, it was pretty clean. The first time we vacuumed there was leftover pet hair which was pretty gross and obviously not that hard to get rid of since our $60 Hoover did the trick. The living room is way too large unless you have a massive TV. There is only one place to hook up your cable and we have a weird gap behind the couch because we can't see if the furniture is against the opposite wall and it's just a lot of wasted space and our furniture gets in the way of the patio door. Our garbage disposal broke and it took them several tries to fix it and we had to fix the drier ourselves by cutting down the hose so that it could dry clothes properly. Our cabinets are in dire need of replacement, they look awful. We have had our carpets cleaned twice and they seemed to get way dirtier, way faster afterwards. And a few months back we started feeling lots of holes under our carpet. Justifiably concerned, we went to the management who told us it was just our carpet padding "settling". Turns out the tenants who lived here before us used to throw the balls from their pool table at each other when they would get into arguments, resulting in over 20 HUGE chips in the concrete under our carpet. Management still didn't fix all of the holes and it looked like they had pulled back the carpet and swept the chipped off fragments away before we moved in since there were none to be found. Without even assessing our unit they told us we "may" get $25-50 back from our $300 "refundable" deposit. Wow. The Area and Complex: Boulder Highway is a pretty sketchy place. If you love the sweet lullaby of police sirens, this is the place for you! The complex is also conveniently located directly under a flight path which is pretty noisy as well. They are total jerks about the parking policy and don't care if there is an underwhelming amount of uncovered parking but tons of covered parking, they will still slap a huge sticker on your window even if covered parking was the only option. The maintenance guys take up all the parking on our side and we get punished for it. The pools are usually pretty nice, but like I said, they aren't open when they are supposed to be. If you live on the north side there is a pre-school directly over the wall and you will get to listen to screaming children all day, everyday.
