  • I'll be honest, I came to Schanks with low expectations. Friends had told me that service left a lot to be desired and the food is not very good. It seems like a great place to watch a hockey game, as there are TVs on pretty much every wall. Also, the games themselves are a lot of fun. We played a few rounds of pool and some mini golf, which were pretty entertaining (we played to see who was the best of the worst). But I expected the worst service wise and though it wasn't terrible, it wasn't great either. We sat for almost 15 minutes with no acknowledgement before we gave up and went up to the bar. The bartender didn't seem surprised at all when we said we hadn't seen a server. When we sat down again after playing some games, nobody came by to see if we wanted another round. Off to the bar again for a second time! The place is very big and they clearly either don't have enough staff to keep up or the staff just don't care. It wasn't a horrible experience, as we still had a great time. But I wouldn't go out of my way to come here.
