| - I visited this place twice during a stay in Las Vegas, and both times, I was in fairly priced reptile heaven. The selection is amazing, and the animals are given lots of hiding places if they don't feel like being ogled by humans - always nice to see, since so few pet stores bother giving them much beyond one of those wide wooden tunnels you can see right into. The staff was honest about the temperament and behavioral problems of their animals, and even refused to sell one with neurological issues because they know he needs special care from a knowledgeable professional (they'd given him a cage nice and high up so he didn't get freaked out by faces all day, and had removed the price tag). One of the employees also congratulated me on not impulse-buying a frog...which I was seriously grateful for, since so many people just try to push a sale.
My only issue was one of the men that work there. Obviously a well-learned hobbyist, he had a bit of a know-it-all vibe, borderline pretentious. He also scoffed at my goal of having reptile wall when I get a place of my own, suggesting I would likely end up rehoming most of them. Not cool. It harshed an otherwise wonderful experience, leaving me with a sort of bitter aftertaste as I left.
Still. Healthy animals, good prices. I'll go back.
